The Chairman Abia State Civil Service Commission, CSC Dr. Mrs. Jerry Eze, has enjoined media practitioners to ensure that efforts and strides of the government are brought to the purview of the public.
Speaking at the two (2) day Media Training and Capacity Building on Human Capital Development, HCD holding at Aguiyi Hall, Umuahia, Dr. Eze also stressed that the transparency in governance exhibited by Governor Alex Otti, must be reported to the people.
Furthermore, she stressed the need for broader media courage, agenda setting from the media to ensure sustainable growth.
On his part, Mr. Bankole Ebisemju, noted that education and skill development, information sharing on educational programs and skill-building initiatives, health awareness advocacy are areas the media can enhance in their reportage.
Meanwhile, Resource Persons at the Media Training and Capacity Building on Human Capital Development, have identified the media as a veritable tool in disseminating information on Human Capital Development.
The Resource Persons also established that for media practitioners to have the requisite knowledge in reporting issues bothering on Human Capital Development, the practitioners must first know what to report while also sharing the right information, well balanced and researched.
