Chikodi Echebiri, Saturday, solicited the royal blessing of the Traditional Ruler of Oriendu autonomous community, Ohuhu clan, HRM Eze Pastor Philip Ajomiwe, ahead of the November 2, Local Council elections in Abia State.

Speaking during the visit, Echebiri, who was accompanied by the Vice Chairman PDP Isingwu ward, Mr. Eberechukwu Isiuwa, reiterated his mission to promote transparency and accountability in handling the assets which will be entrusted to his care, if duly elected by the Umuahia North electorate.

His words, “I have come to inform you, Your Majesty sir, that my party, the PDP has elected me as its flag bearer for the forthcoming Local Government Area election in the state after our party primaries. I have also come to seek a blessing from you as the oldest traditional ruler in Ohuhu clan. I am an advocate of transparency in governance and prudent management of funds for effective service delivery. As a homeboy, I know the nooks and crannies of Umuahia North and also I know the problems in Umuahia North and how best to solve them. I have the talent and experience needed to pilot the affairs of Umuahia North”.

Responding, the traditional ruler of Oriendu autonomous community, HRM Eze Pastor Philip Ajomiwe, said that political arrangement in the clan favours the Umuhu people to provide the next chairman of the area and that one thing that should be paramount to them should be the need to take a decision that would start the process of bringing in someone who has been widely described as a breath of fresh air to assume the leadership of Umuahia North.

He reminded the PDP candidate that God remains the ultimate in everything and He alone makes way to whom He chooses.

He encouraged Echebiri to embrace the concept of maturity and integrity in whatever he does, reminding him further that any leadership rooted in Christ remains the best.

Eze Ajomiwe prayed God to grant him, his ambition.
