A Charity Organization known as Harrison Goodness Foundation, HGF has reiterated zero tolerance for examination malpractices.
Addressing the perspective candidates at Otampa Central School, Otampa Isuikwuato, shortly before the screening test for the year 2024 Harrison Goodness Foundation Scholarships, the Chairman HGF (Nigeria) scholarship Board, Mr. Onyekachi Ogwo, told the candidates to “take maximum advantage of the golden opportunity at their disposal, as the examination is a major prerequisite for them to benefit HGF scholarship.
He emphasized that it is important that they put in the seriousness and determination that would produce the best results.
Addressing gatecrashers/those who did not pass through the examination registration process, Ogwo said that HGF is a highly principled organization that follows strictly to its directives and guildlines.
“We budgeted for the candidates who registered for this scholarship examination and it is un-academic to sit for an examination you did not register for”.
Interacting with our correspondent respectively shortly after the examination, some of the candidates who spoke on the condition of anonymity said they felt the sense of privilege to be part of the exercise which is not common in Otampa community.
They expressed optimism that they will emerge as successful candidates.
Also interacting with our correspondent through WhatsApp chat shortly after the examination which coincided with the International Day of Peace, the Chairman of HGF and former Commissioner of Education in Abia State, Chief Richard Harrison who wished the candidates well, asserted that without education, peace is an illusion.
According to him, it is only through a collective reimagining of what education is and then implementing that into policies and practices that we can forge a society that builds the mutual understanding that our communities desperately needs.
Thirty seven (37) candidates comprising of one (1) candidate for tertiary institution and 36 for secondary school sat for the examination.
