Rotarians have been encouraged to support membership drive and work for the growth of the club through prompt payment of their dues.
Speaking in Umuahia, Abia State during the membership project of Rotary Club of Umuahia, District 9142, Rotarian Nneka Ewelike, the guest speaker and District membership chair for district 9142 who espoused and expounded the essence of membership retention and increase, pointed out that Rotary International does not only give a top notch attention to it but Rotarians also desire to keep affecting their communities positively through meaningful and productive projects.
The guest speaker further elaborated on value adding fellowship and engagement of members among other key factors that can enhance club’s growth and retention organically inline with the Rotary International areas of focus.
Earlier in her speech, the Club President, Rotarian Temitope Nnaomah said that August is a good month to celebrate Club members, and the good they do in the community and around the world.
She encouraged Rotarians and Rotaractors to always strive to recommend a new Rotary member during the Rotary year.
Rotarian Nnaomah who pointed out that new and different club models will attract diverse leaders to Rotary, maintained that Rotary Club of Umuahia would continue to demonstrate its value by staying connected to members and responding to changing needs in the community.
Two new members (Dr. Miracle and Prince chijioke), were inducted during the fellowship, while Rotarian Adaobi, was recognized as the Rotarian of the Month. Rotarian Chijioke also received his award during the fellowship.
The fellowship was held under the atmosphere of friendliness, filled with so much fun.
