Umuahia North Council of Traditional Rulers, Abia State have singled out the Founder of CONNAK Foundation, Mr. Kenneth Nnamdi Ukeagu and other illustrious sons of Umuahia North for a special honour in the forthcoming Ibeku/Ohuhu clans joint New Yam festival.
The Chairman central organizing committee for Umuahia North new yam festival HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu, who announced this to newsmen after the committee meeting held at Umuahia North Council headquarters on Friday, explained that the chieftaincy title and award mapped out for the illustrious sons were designed to celebrate them for their humanity edge.
Eze Ofoegbu, who reiterated that the 2024 new yam festival will be the first of its kind, also noted that the awardees were selected based on their track records.
Eze Ofoegbu emphasized on the need to encourage personalities who have been using their treasure, time and talents to empower people across communities especially in the area of education grants and scholarships.
The traditional ruler who maintained that the exceptional festival will hold on the 18th day of September, 2024, said it will also feature many cultural recreational activities from the two clans that made up Umuahia North (Ibeku and Ohuhu).
