As countries across the globe celebrates the year 2024 Never Give UP Day, a social innovator and community advocate, Mrs Adanma Odefa, has encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope but to cultivate a mindset of determination, which helps great minds to get through all of the difficult challenges that life throws their way.
August 18th Never Give Up Day serves as a beacon of resilience and unwavering determination for all those who dare to dream. In a world where skeptics cast doubt and naysayers question our resolve, this day stands as a testament to the power of perseverance.
Interacting with our correspondent through WhatsApp chat, Mrs Odefa, also suggested that the government should introduce friendly policies that will help lessen the burden from the resilient citizens.
While asserting that humans remain the biggest and strongest anchor for other humans, Odefa who also harped on the need for healthy collaborations and partnership in order to lighten the burdens of each other, advised that those who do well should be celebrated and those struggling should also be supported.
Her words, “It is sad that the world appears to be in such a dark place presently. The economic pressures, social pressures and even spiritual pressures can all weigh down on individuals and cause terrible depression that could even lead to suicide.
“Everyone’s threshold for pain and trauma differs. Let us not allow each other to get to that breaking point”.
Odefa, who espoused and expounded the concept of Never Give UP, further encouraged Nigerians not lose hope but to self-strategize continuously and keep coming up with plans to stay afloat economically, socially and in every other way.

“Most times, people break because they have no one to lean on and I am not simply speaking of money. Money is only a part of it.
“As I advocate for people to allow others to lean on them, I must also advocate for the ‘leanees’ to understand their breaking point.
“Remember that if you break, you cannot support others.
“I am determined to never give up even on the incredibly annoying folks who might deserve to be given up on.
“I invite you to join me to face the mirror everyday and tell the beautiful person staring back that you are determined to immensely succeed and never give up”, Mrs Odefa, a social innovator and community advocate, further encouraged Nigerians.
According to records, Never Give Up Day is all about cultivating a mindset of determination, which helps us to get through all of the difficult challenges that life throws our way.
The day not only used to applaud people for reaching their goals but also to support those who are still trying to achieve their goals and have not quite got there yet.
