A sociocultural organization known as Igbo Ekene Global Development Union, IEGDU has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo over the death of the patriarch.
In a release made available to our correspondent by Amb. Moses Onyegbule, IEGDU President General, the body described his death as a very sad and heartbreaking news that is so bad to the ear of IGBO EKENE GLOBAL members and Igbos in general.

He prayed God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the big loss.
Also in a release, the IEGDU Diaspora Leader, Mayor Dr. Kingsley Kelachukwu Okoronkwo Ph.D (Eze-Umuokorobia Ndigbo FCT) stated that the news of the demise of Iwuanyanwu on Thursday at the age of 82, after a brief illness, came with deep sadness.
Okoronkwo, stated that as the Financial Secretary and Acting Treasurer of Ohanaeze Ndigbo FCT-Abuja, he had the privilege of working closely with Chief Iwuanyanwu, and can attest to his exceptional leadership, wisdom, and dedication to the Igbo community.

He lamented that his passing has left a significant void in Ohaneze Ndigbo and other Igbo sociocultural organizations and the entire Igbo nation.
The release he made available to our correspondent partly read, “Please accept my sincerest sympathies during this difficult time. May the cherished memories of Chief Iwuanyanwu’s life, legacy, and contributions to the Igbo community bring you comfort and strength. May his soul rest in peace”.
Also reacting, Mr. Osita Ogbonnia, IEGDU Director Monitoring and Evaluation, described the death of the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo as a collosal blow to the Igbo race.
“It’s really unfortunate that he died at a time his services is needed mostly.
“My brothers and sisters of Igbo, extraction, may his kind and gentle soul, rest in eternal peace.
“O Lord our God Almighty Jesus Christ, give us the strong heart and strength to overcome the shock and pains of his death”.
He described the deceased as an upright, outspoken man, who believed in emancipation of the Igbos, a dogged and fearless leader.
