Abia State Ministry of Environment has lined up activities marking the World Environment Day 2024.

According to a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT signed  by Prince Ifeanyi Ezeocha, Public Relations Officer on behalf of the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, there will be a stakeholders’ meeting which will involve representatives of Companies in Aba and Umuahia; leaders of Landlords’ Associations in Aba & Umuahia; leaders of Market Associations in Aba and Umuahia; leaders of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW in Aba and Umuahia; leaders of Christian/Muslim Associations in Aba and Umuahia; and representatives of Schools in Aba and Umuahia, at Enitona Hotel, Aba, on Monday June 3, 2024 at 11: 00 AM.

According to the release, on TUESDAY JUNE 4, 2024, from 8:30AM – 10:30AM, there will be a road-Show from Ministry of Environment, from School Road to Isi – gate in Umuahia, the state capital. Thereafter, a public lecture will take place at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia by 11:00AM

The release also notified the general public that there will be clearing/de-silting of gutters by Landlords/tenants, Companies, Motor Park operators, Market Associations, Communities, Churches/ Mosques, Schools and all ABIANS and residents in Abia State on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5, 2024.
