The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Anglican communion, The Rt. Rev’d Geoffrey Ibeabuchi has officially declared open, the first session of the 11th junior synod of the Diocese with a charge on delegates to look unto Jesus Christ as the remedy to all troubles bedeviling the nation.
Speaking at All Saints Church, World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia (World Bank Archdeaconry), Bishop Ibeabuchi, pointed out that food scarcity, high cost of living, job and life insecurity, Naira scarcity, lateness in marriage, unemployment and uncertainties among other challenges of life can make one to be troubled.
The Bishop however encouraged the junior synod to do the needful thing, which is getting salvation, a passcode to eternal life.
Furthermore, he prayed for a fulfilling time in the presence of God while the synod lasted.
Rev’d Chidiebere Emeh, had earlier espoused and expounded the theme of synod “Troubled about many things” with reference from the Bible book of Luke chapter 10 verse 41, during his sermon.
The three days synod which started from Monday April 29, 2024 to May 1, 2024 will feature workshops on Effect of Drug Abuse and how to cultivate a personal relationship with God; group discussion on the way forward of young people and a talk on persistent prayer-potent power.
