Wife of Abia State Governor Mrs Priscilla Otti has said that her office would support the management of Amaudo Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre and the inmates with skill acquisition trainings to make them more independent and responsible when reuniting with their families.

Mrs Otti, who said this when she paid a visit to the rehabilitation center at Itumbuzo, Bende L.G.A, of the state, observed that majority of mental ill health cases were caused by unresolved family issues and tragedies.
She promised to partner the management of the Rehabilitation Centre to address such issues in the society.
Mrs Otti, also commended the founder of the home, Nkechi Colwell and leadership of the rehabilitation centre under the care of Very Rev. Kenneth Nwaubani for their selfless service to humanity.
She promised that the present administration of Dr Alex Otti would fix the poor road network leading to the centre and other concerns raised by the management.
Speaking earlier, the Director, Amaudo Integrated community Mental Health Foundation the Very Rev Kenneth Nwaubani, decried that people who are mentally ill are not only homeless but are exposed to all manners of abuses.
He reiterated the selfless resolve of the centrea towards addressing these ills in the society.
Nwaubani, who also conducted the wife of the Governor round the centre, informed that different skills acquisition trainings were used in healing the inmates at the centre to make them more responsible and to earn a living when reuniting with their families.
He regretted that despite its selfless services to the public the home was been neglected by successive Governments in the State for 35 years with poor road network
The highpoint of the event was the donation of cash and food items by wife of the Governor to the centre.
