Christians have been enjoined to always live a life of thanksgiving despite the challenges.
Speaking at Holy Ghost Chapel International, Umuahia, Abia State during the survival thanksgiving service of Evang. Dr. Mrs. Rebecca Akujuobi, the homilist, Bishop Prosper Obaro, who espoused and expounded the importance of thanksgiving, appreciated God for His divine love and mercy upon the family of Akujuobis’ who ceaselessly work for the promotion and propagation of the gospel of Christ.
“It’s good to make a habit of thanking God and to show Him courtesy through our thanks and praise. We should continually thank Him as an act of our worship and faith. And the best reason to offer thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father is simply because we love Him.
“It is good to always realize what has done for us and to come to Him in thanksgiving. The husband of the celebrant, Prof. Peter Akujuobi has remained a defender of the gospel of Christ in Nigeria and the outer worlds. And we must thank God for taking away shame from his family”, Bishop Obaro said.
He enjoined the congregation to always rejoice with those, who appreciates God’s benevolence upon their lives as it has a positive effect.
Also in an exhortation, Apostle Sunday Wilson, encouraged the congregation to cultivate the habit of thanksgiving, pointing out that it is only a grateful heart that can testify God’s goodness.
Earlier in a sermon captioned, “The Desire Shall Fail”, Chaplain Raphael Ulonnam, charged the congregation not to forsake God’s kingdom but to always strive to have something to do with its promotion.
The preacher who cited the Bible books of Ecclesiastes chapter 12 verses 1 to 6; Genesis chapter 2 verses 1 to 5; and Isaiah chapter 38 verse 1, reminded the congregation that God will reward every man according to his work.
Testifying before the congregation, the celebrant, Evang. Dr. Mrs Rebecca Akujuobi, who was flanked by her husband and Vice Chancellor of Morris Cerullo Christian University of Nigeria, Prof. Peter Akujuobi, children and well-wishers, appreciated God’s divine grace, mercy and love upon her despite the temptations and manipulations of the devil.
Mrs Akujuobi who recounted her journey of life which include: her eye surgery, incidences which happened on April 22, 2022; 26 November, 2023 and other challenges of life which occured between the years 2015 and 2024, maintained that she has a task given to her by God, which she must fulfill.
“I have a divine assignment given to me by God and I want to fulfill that which the Lord has handed over to me.
“I am here to thank the Almighty God, who has been preserving my life”, Mrs Akujuobi said in thanksgiving.
