Residents and citizens of Abia State have been informed that the 3 days public holiday declared by the Federal Government in celebration of Eid-El-Fitri does not affect the ongoing 2024 Umuahia Free Medical Mission being carried out by Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas, ANPA in the state.
This is contained in a public service announcement signed by Dr. Mrs. Grace Okaro, ANPA Mission Logistics & Volunteers.
The release enjoined Abians to take advantage of the opportunity and consult the volunteer Doctors for Medicare by visiting the designated hospitals.
The announcement read, “This is to inform the General Public that the ANPA 2024 Umuahia Free Medical Mission which kicked off on Thursday, 4th April, 2024 is ongoing till 14th April, 2024 and is not affected by the Public Holidays.

“Abians are requested to take advantage of this opportunity and consult the volunteer Doctors for Medicare by visiting the following hospitals between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm each day – Abia State Specialist Hospital, Aba Road, Umuahia; Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia; and General Hospital, Amachara”.
