As the world observes the year 2024 Palm Sunday, a Knight of Saint Mulumba, KSM Sir Ekele Ochiabuto has tasked the Knights and Ladies to strive to ensure that their behaviours reflect the image of Christ.
Interacting with our correspondent at the eve of Palm Sunday, shortly after the KSM annual Easter retreat (Lenten retreat) at the Marian shrine, Mater dei catholic cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State, Sir Ochiabuto also tasked his worthy brothers and sisters to reflect, speak and preach the gospel of Christ louder than ever.
He further charged them to reflect on the topic of the retreat – “Who are mine?” and strive to be the candle on the hill top, whose light cannot be hidden.
“The idea of this retreat is to prepare ourselves as the leaders in the Church for the holy week.
“So we should strive to be the salt of the earth and to reflect the good works of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that through us, people will be testifying the goodness of the Lord”, Sir Ochiabuto advised.
Despite the economic downturn ravaging Nigeria, Sir Ochiabuto disclosed that the pius society has been living up to the expectations, although there are rooms for improvement.
“The knights have continued to sacrifice for the church and for the faith. It is a core responsibility of the knights to help ameliorate some human challenges particularly the indigent, vulnerable and poor people through works of mercy” the Catholic knight, also said.
