Mothers have been advised to carry the message of Clubfoot free treatment to the nooks and crannies of their environment, to enable the affected get the right information and access care for their children.
Sensitizing nursing mothers and student nurses at Aba North Primary Healthcare Centre in Aba North Local Government Area of Abia State, the Chief Mobilization and Orientation Officer, Aba North, National Orientation Agency, NOA Mrs Chizoba Madu, who harped on early detection/intervention of Clubfoot, informed the participants that a Nongovernmental Organization known as The Straight Child Foundation, TSCF handle cases of children with Clubfoot for free, particularly ages of 0 – 5 years.
“The Straight Child Foundation in partnership with Miracle Feet INC support is providing a free comprehensive clubfoot treatment in Abia State”, the NOA Aba North COMO further notified the participants
Mr. Madu also notified the participants of the existence of Clubfoot clinic in Rhema Hospital, Aba zone, every Friday and also the contact of the medical personnel.
She further urged them to carry the information to their neighbours, friends and relations.
Also, during the enlightenment program on clubfoot and awareness creation on its remedies by NOA in collaboration with the Health Department, Umuahia South LGA, at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Apumiri-Ubakala, the COMO, Mr. Precious Ekeleme represented by his assistant, Mr. Anagha Onyeka, who expounded the causes of clubfoot, issues surrounding the ailment, directed the participants who are Staff of the LGA, Health personnels, nursing mother and others, where and how to seek help.
