The Abia State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, CC Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, has said that the diligent implementation of some strategic and deliberate policies introduced by CG Ahmed Abububakar Audi PhD, the NSCDC Commandant General has raised the bar of performance rating of the Corps. 

In a release made available to our correspondent by CSC Ndukwe Agu Egwu, Head Public Relations Unit, the State Commandant, who extolled the uncommon leadership qualities of the Commandant General of Corps, appreciated him for been instrumental to the visible transformation in virtually all the Directorates, Departments ,Units  and other Formations of the Corps nationwide. 

Commandant Alfadarai said, “The Safe School Programme and the Female Squad which have been exposed to strategic training to complement each other with the later providing kinetic support to the former.  These wonderful initiatives of the Corps’  leadership  under  our indefatigable Commandant General has further enhanced her capacity  to make our schools safe for all”.

 The Abia NSCDC Boss who espoused and expounded the year 2024 International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) day celebration theme: *Honour Heroes and Promote Safety Skills*, said that the theme was apt and could not have come at a more auspicious time than now when many especially among the conventional security agencies have paid the supreme price while in the line of duty.

He added that any effort made by the government and non governmental organizations to honour the heroes (living and dead ) and promote safety skills that will reduce risks associated with the job of securing the nation would be highly appreciated.

The State Commandant also seized the opportunity offered by the celebration to charge the newest entrant into the Corps whose Passing Out Parade (POP)  coincided with the International Civil Defence Day Celebration to ensure diligent application of all they have learned in the course of their training.

The NSCDC Abia State Commandant said he was pleased with the performances of the graduands and commended the Training Department for a job well done.

He also promised to deploy them based on  the Command’s personnel needs and competence.

It was gathered that the Command made a presentation to the Motherless Babies Home in Umuahia as part of her efforts towards strengthening her relationship with the civilian populace.

 

Meanwhile, the well attended double event featured parade, rescue capacity demonstration by Agro Rangers, stripping and assembling of rifles, unveiling of the Abia Command Female Squad and the Safe School Programme, presentation of awards and certificates to deserving graduands.
