The Abia state Ministry of Lands and Housing has handed over the proposed site for the building of Renewed Hope Housing Program of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in fulfillment of his 2023 Campaign Promises.
Speaking during the event, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr Chaka Chukwumerije, said the Ministry was happy to present the proposed site which was approved by the Governor of Abia State Dr.Alex Otti to enable the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, commence the project.
Represented by TPL Chinanu Nkume, the State Director of Town Planning, Ministry of Lands and Housing, Mr. Chukwumerije revealed that Abia was lucky to be among the 13 States that benefited from the Renewed Hope Housing Program of The President.
He expressed optimism that the project upon completion would bring more development to the state.
In his speech, the traditional ruler of Umuche autonomous community Eze A.O Chukwu- Eze Ohunga the 4 of Bende Ancient Kingdom expressed happiness over the project which is to be sited in his community.
He appreciated the President for remembering his campaign promises, also to the Governor Dr.Alex Otti for approving the land in this community.
The Royal father also lauded the efforts of the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt.Hon. Benjamin Kalu, towards the actualisation of the project, adding that since he assumed office as their representative at the Federal level that they have witnessed massive infrastructural development in the rural areas.
He further disclosed that one of the major functions of a traditional ruler is to encourage development in their communities and by this projects it will bring development to his community.
The contractor of Messers Camp David Global Synergy Ltd represented by Prince Ibuchim Okorie assures their readiness to mobilize to site as everything is set for the project to commence.
He also sought for a peaceful co-existence of the community during the project as it will enable them the maximum speed assuring that the youth of the community will be involved in the project.
The project site inspection was also done during the event.
