2023 National Assembly Election: SDP Flagbearers Emerge In Abia State
The Social Democratic Primary, SDP Abia State chapter has elected her candidates for the forthcoming Senate and House of Representatives election.
Announcing the results in Umuahia, the Returning Officer, Hon. Casmir Irekamba declared that Mr. Patrick Obinna John; Mr. Echewe Uche Brown and Mr. Kenneth Uzoigwe emerged as senatorial candidates for Abia Central; Abia South and Abia North senatorial districts respectively as consensus candidates through voice votes.
Speaking shortly after he was declared winner of the primary election, the SDP candidate for Abia Central senatorial district, Mr. Patrick Obinna John described his party as a unified force which has been prepared for the battle ahead.
While maintaining that the SDP will wrestle power out from the hands of the ruling party in the senatorial district and Abia in general, he advised members of his party to close ranks and work together for the victory of the party in the year 2023.
Lending his voice, the Aba North State Constituency candidate, Hon. Lucky James maintained that SDP is coming to take over Abia with good governance, quality legislation and representation.
He further disclosed that the party is fervently and peacefully working towards achieving the task for the overall interest of Abians.
Earlier in his speech, the Abia State Chairman of the party, Elder Ezenwoke Edward assured that his led executive will lead the SDP to victory, come 2023 general election.
He said, “SDP is a progressive party and I strongly believe that we will have a successful administration in 2023 because we have come to change the system on ground”.
