2022 Synod: Anglican Bishop Visits Royal Fathers, Bemoans The State Of S/E Economy

The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia diocese, The Rt Rev’d Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi has decried that the Southeast’s economy is in near comatose as a result of the killings and kidnapping which presently bedeviled the region.


In his speech when he paid courtesy visits to the traditional rulers in Ubakala North Archdeaconry, namely Nsukwe autonomous community, Eze Samuel Anyanwoke; Eze Sir Gabriel Udo Okenwa of Eziama autonomous community; and High Chief Bernard Chukwu, the Traditional Prime Minister of Amibo Ubakala autonomous community, Bishop Ibeabuchi expressed worries that the nation has also degenerated to the level of where life does not mean anything to people.

He seized the opportunity to inform the royal fathers of the ongoing Synod of the Diocese at St. Andrew’s Church Nsukwe/Amibo Ubakala, adding that it will also afford the Church the opportunity to advice the government on the right way to go.


Bishop Ibeabuchi who also briefed them the significance of the Synod, solicited support from the communities in the area of security, while the Synod lasted.

Responding respectively, the traditional rulers in Ubakala North Archdeaconry, namely Nsukwe autonomous community, Eze Samuel Anyanwoke; Eze Sir Gabriel Udo Okenwa of Eziama autonomous community; and High Chief Bernard Chukwu, the Traditional Prime Minister of Amibo Ubakala autonomous community, appreciated the Bishop Ibeabuchi for bringing the Synod to their zone and prayed for the success of the ecclesiastical council.
